It's been forever and a day since I've written a post here, but I just wanted to post an update! Jeri & I have been taking our duel licensure classes for foster care and adoption for 5 weeks now. Tomorrow is our last day! We have learned all kinds of things from these classes: sexual abuse, physical abuse, ADHD, emotional disturbances, etc. We have learned that the chance of getting an infant in our home (and keeping it via adoption) is slim to none, but we're still excited about the prospect of getting ANY child in our home. We will have our first home study on Wednesday this week. I'm not really nervous because we're a totally normal family. Hopefully our homestudy won't take too long, though I've been told it can can up to 6 months to complete. Mostly I think it depends on how willing you (as a family) are to make sure you have all paperwork done (and there is a TON of it!).
On the other side of my life I'm working on completing the classes for my 4/5th grade endorsement via OSU. They've been a real pain in the butt because they are all online. I can't wait to be done (December 4)!!
It seems like my life is one big busy day right now... Thank goodness it will all be coming to an end soon (the work, not my life)... We're starting another quarter at school on monday which will ease things off for a while because I won't have to worry about getting missing papers, grading, and entering grades for another 9 weeks. I also can't wait for December 18th to arrive! Jeri and I have planned a cruise (yea! his boss gave him a week off!) and we're going to Jamaica and the Grand Caymans - SO excited about it!
