Sadness in the news/Happiness at home

I always find the news depressing and this is just one more drop of milk on that cookie...
If you also read the comments that idiotic people on here posted you will see why this makes me feel sad.

It's not just the fact that an egg "donation" has become "you give me your egg, I'll give you lots of my money, even though this is supposed to be a DONATION." What don't people understand about the word DONATION?

Let me tell you the definitions:
1.
an act or instance of presenting something as a gift, grant, or contribution.
2.
a gift, as to a fund; contribution.

Neither of these mean let me pay you for what you've given me. Now, don't get me wrong... I am SUPER willing to pay for a baby (even though some people think it's wrong) because I want to have children. Jeri & I looked into adoption (as previously mentioned) and we even wanted to do both (we decided to go with DE [donor egg] right now because of cost). The thing is people want to have not just their own baby to pass on their morals and values and a sense of self to, but some people just want to be pregnant and have the experience. I'm sorry, but you just can't get that with an adoption! It's not possible. Period.
It's also sad because people are so small minded. First of all, I'm not communist simply because I want to have an egg donation. Second, "someone's baby" won't be just "running around somewhere" MY baby will be! The baby that I give birth to will be OURS not some random (okay so we'll choose her so not completely random) egg donor's baby~all she provides is 1/2 the genetics - NOT the baby!

So in the end, this day has been made sad because I went and had to read the news. I don't think I'll do that again for awhile!

On a happier note... Tonight Mom & Dad came over for dinner. We played Eurorails which mom & Jer were SUPER (and I do mean SUPER) excited about playing. It's an on-going game, the first time we played it took 25 hours for someone to win (ME!). Anyway, we had dinner (Fish for Jer) and then surprised mom with an early birthday present ~ tickets for her & I to go see Beauty and the Beast at the Palace Theater! It was a great musical and I really enjoyed seeing it with my mom!
