Amberleigh

On March 16, 2011 we took in our 2nd foster child. Her name is Amberleigh and she was 11 months, 12 days old when she came to us. She is a very sweet and happy baby, though our 1st few days were touch and go... it took a little bit of time for her to get used to us and all the other new people in her life! Luckily for us, our good friend Megan agreed to be her at home babysitter. Amberleigh loves Megan a lot, and has tons of fun at her house.

We are very lucky to have Amberleigh, as she is a super easy going baby! She sleeps 11-12 hours a night, takes 1-2 naps during the day, and the rest of the time is busy, busy, busy!! She is in constant motion!

Amberleigh is a good eater!

She usually has 4-5 8 oz bottles each day, 1-3 jars of baby food at each meal, and some finger foods. She will eat almost everything! She likes orange peppers, carrots, chicken, green beans, pears, blueberries, eggs, turkey, avocado, pad thai, waffles, cheese, raspberries, among other things!

Amberleigh has met other new family & friends... She has met cousin Elliott, G-man & Gma Knebel, Aunt Corrin & Uncle Nick, Aunt Sarah & Uncle Brock, Great-Aunt Paula, Cousins Rebecca & Daniel, Great-Aunt Debbie as well as Gma & Gpa Hull, Aunt Teri & Uncle Phil, Cousin Emma, Gabe & Stacey. She has met friends Stacy & Scott, Megan & Phil, and will soon be meeting friends Lisa & Justin, Rachel & Claire, Shannon & Denver, among other friends!

She sure does have a busy social life!

This is Amberleigh's trademark walk! She loves to be held, and will hold her arms out to anyone for a test drive of their cuddle ability! Then she is right back into our arms, or whoever she is most comfortable with at the moment. She is definitely a busy lady, but likes to settle into a good cuddle when drinking her bottle before bed, and she is a great hugger! She was giving hugs to Cousin Elliott (10 months) the 1st day she met him.

Amberleigh has a wonderful personality as you can tell from some of the above. She is loving, sweet, always up for a game of move-this-here-then-move-it-back, reading a book, or playing with the numerous stuffed animals we have for her (thanks Paula!). We have taken a couple of trips to Sawmill to go swimming. She seems to like the water, but not the cold so much, so we do more baths where she can be warm and splash as much as she wants! We have made some trips to Marion, Youngstown (to meet new baby Gabe), and even London to check out possible new homes for us. She is a joy to have with us and we will surely miss her when she goes.

On Monday, April 4, will be Amberleigh's 1st birthday! We will have a party to celebrate her birth with cake & ice cream and some presents on Sunday. On Monday she will spend the day with her birth parents. They are very excited for her 1st birthday are are looking forward to seeing her that day.
