DNA from Ovum to Ovum
Years ago when Jeri and I first started looking into using an egg donor/IVF to conceive a child I thought 'how cool' would it be if the possibility existed to take DNA from my [ovum] cells, putting that into a donor's ovum and then use IVF to create embryos that have my DNA. This article discusses doing just that. Of course, this is just in the stages where they are doing this for children who develop diseases from Mitochondrial DNA, but down the road, who knows where this could go.
